Luther Younger knows the meaning of true love. His wife, Waverlee, to whom he’s been married for over 50 years, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005. Now, she’s paralyzed and staying in a hospital full time. Luther isn’t going to let that stop him from seeing her though! Every morning, he walks 12 miles to go visit his beloved at the hospital.

Though he’s been offered rides in the past, he usually prefers to walk.

Romantics everywhere: take note! This is what going the extra mile is all about.

Twitter loved Luther and his “sweetest cup of tea.”

Others couldn’t imagine how tired his feet must be every day!

But Luther believes the walking both gets him where he’s going and keeps him healthy!

Internet users are banding together to help support the couple. A GoFundMe started by Lutheta Younger, the couple’s daughter, is aiming to raise $65k for the lovebirds. As of the writing of this article, they had already raised over $57k.

Those funds will be sure to help the Youngers, but it seems Luther has his priorities figured out either way. Thank you, sir, for inspiring us with the story of your love.
