A Sinkhole Has Opened Up On The White House Lawn—And The Jokes Write Themselves At This Point

Here’s some news that definitely doesn’t have any metaphorical meaning or symbolic significance: a sinkhole has opened up on the front lawn of the White House just outside the press briefing room.

Though the hole is relatively small and reportedly caused by irrigation issues that have plagued the first residence since its construction, Twitter was quick to crack jokes.

This sinkhole can do no wrong!

Of course, the hole has a perfectly reasonable geological explanation.

That hasn’t stopped people from theorizing it might be an escape tunnel.

A similar incident occurred at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago exactly one year ago.

Don’t worry, though—the White House team is good at covering things up.

The sinkhole is now many people’s favorite member of the Trump administration.

We’ll just go ahead and call it now:
