On the evening of Thursday, December 20, celebrity tattoo artist Jonboy teased fans with a picture on Instagram of a blonde woman with a newly inked tattoo of a rose on the nape of her neck. This didn’t catch many people’s attention until they noticed that he also tagged pop/country superstar Taylor Swift in the comments, leading many to suspect the singer had finally caved in and gotten some ink!

An army of Swift fans (aka the Swifties) quickly took to the internet to dispell the rumor as quickly as it had appeared, pointing out that the woman’s hair color/texture didn’t seem to match Swift’s and that (oh boy) she had never been seen with that necklace previously.

It turns out the Swifties were right on this one! People Magazine was able to independently confirm the woman pictured in the photo is not Taylor Swift. It’s unclear why JonBoy tagged her in the post, though some suspect it was to entice Swift to give a tat a try!
Swift has been publically vocal about her lack of desire for a tattoo in the past, telling Taste of Country in 2012:
“I don’t think I could ever commit to something permanent.”
If she were to get one, however, she’s fairly certain it’d be her lucky number:
“If I was going to get something, it would be a 13.”
Ok so I have a theory that #TS7 will have 13 tracks. Taylor Swift has only had two albums with 13 tracks: Fearless and 1989. And guess what: both won #GRAMMYs album of the year. Just saying ???? #TS7ISCOMING #reptourNetflix @taylorswift13 @taylornation13

The number 13 has always been important to Swift, according to MTV News:
“I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first #1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.”
Every TRUE fan of Swift’s knew the photo was of somebody else:
Taylor Swift won’t even let photographers picture her leaving her home. You think she’s going to allow someone to take a photo of her brand new tattoo and show it to the world? ????

I love that tattoo!!! Awesome job!!!!! I think its a girl that maybe is a fan of taylor. Its definately not taylor. If u look at the roots of her hair, its clearly brown. Taylor does not have brown hair, she never did. Taylor is blonde & has been blonde from birth.

Of course, that won’t stop fans from getting Swift tattoos of their own!
Coolest Taylor Swift tattoo I have seen. This works on so many levels bc of the pyro at the Rep Tour, because of her single Sparks Fly, Because of "shinning like fireworks over your sad empty town" and because she is the Queen of the 4th of July, America and voting.

To Swifties everywhere, Taylor remains the Queen…though one without a tattoo.
