Video Captures Elderly Woman Being Violently Kicked In Head By Man On Train—But That’s Not The Worst Part

A disturbing video has circulated online, this one showing the moment a man attacked an elderly woman on a Bronx subway train.

The incident took place around 3 a.m. on a 2 train on March 10. The man violently kicked the woman in the head and punched her before exiting the train at Nereid Avenue.

The woman stayed on the train for one more stop.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot F. Shea said the woman was treated and released from the hospital and “is getting the care, advocacy (and) support needed.”

But it’s not necessarily the attack––as horrible as it is––that’s earned people’s ire.

It’s the fact that people were keen to record the attack, and did not intervene.

A suspect is now in custody.

He’s been identified as Marc Gomez, 36, and faces multiple counts of assault and harassment. 

Local authorities at the 49th Precinct posted a picture of Gomez to their official Facebook page.

He was caught after someone recognized him and called in.
