We told everybody not to answer those emails from that “heiress.”

Though, this case goes even beyond that.

Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, was convicted of attempted grand larceny, three grand larceny counts and a misdemeanor charge of theft of services after she scammed over $200,000 from banks and friends.

She was on her way to getting $22,000,000 in a loan for a “New York arts center” when the cracks began to show.

Banks were able to recoup some of their funds leaving her total haul around $275,000.

Sorokin posed as a German heiress and got “thousands of dollars in bank loans, lived at a luxury Manhattan hotel and traveled on a private plane between November 2016 and August 2017 using bad checks and claiming she wired money for payments,” according to CNN.

“As proven at trial, Anna Sorokin committed real white-collar felonies over the course of her lengthy masquerade,” District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said in a statement.

“I thank the jury for its service in this complex trial, as well as my office’s prosecutors and investigators for their meticulous investigation and resolve to ensure that Sorokin faces real justice for her many thefts and lies.”

Sorokin reportedly hired a stylist for her trial.

Her lawyer revealed to GQ that she was using a courtroom stylist, her clothing-related antics caused a number of delays in the proceedings, and a dedicated Instagram account documented every look with vague panache (“April 22nd, 2019: Snake Is In”). Even after several months in Rikers, Sorokin was still hoping to manipulate us, but now with the only resource left available to her: clothing.”

She borrowed money from Fortress Investment Group and City National Bank, in addition to:

“[inviting] a friend on an all-expenses paid trip to Morocco for six days but her friend ended up paying their $62,000 bill.”

Sorokin is due to be sentenced on May 9th.
