Arkansas Police Chief Resigns After Wishing ‘Death To All Marxist Democrats’ And Encouraging Acts Of Violence

@Langholland/Parler

An Arkansas police chief threatened Democrats in a series of violent posts on Parler, the self-described “free speech platform” popular with far-right conservatives and Trump supporters.

Lang Holland, who is from Marshall, Arkansas, outraged many local residents with his calls for violence against Democrats, according to CNN.

Viktoria Capek, a host of Good Morning Arkansas for KATV, tweeted screenshots and shared excerpts from some of Holland’s posts.

“These are screenshots made from the Parler social media app, posts by Marshall, AR police chief Lang Holland.”

“’Death to all Marxist Democrats. Take no prisoners leave no survivors!’ ‘Throw water on them in restaurants. Push them off sidewalks.’”

In one such post on the Twitter-like platform, Holland encouraged followers to act violently against “Marxist Democrat bastards” in public.

“When this is over and Trump is president for 4 more years. Do not go to sleep. Do not forget what these Marxist Democrat bastards have tried to do.”

“When you see one in public get in their face do not give them any peace. Throw water on them at restaurants. Push them off sidewalks.”

“Never let them forget they are traitors and have no right to live in this Republic after what they have done.”

A second screenshot showed Holland sharing a QAnon conspiracy theory meme.

Capek posted more screenshots in a follow-up tweet, indicating that Holland’s Parler posts circulated onto various social media platforms by Friday night.

She wrote:

“These posts made Friday night quickly circulated social media. Since made, another Parler account was made under ‘Lang Holland’ claiming to be the real chief, stating the other account is fake and did not represent things he stood for as a ‘protector of all citizens.’”

Holland asserted his innocence and pleaded for people not to trust the “fake” profile bearing his likeness, which was allegedly shown to him by an associate.

Holland said:

“I am new to Parler. An associate showed me the FAKE profile of me on here and I was horrified and disgusted. For the record, THIS is the real Chief! Don’t believe the imitators! I am NOT an ignorant, violent, racist Trump disciple like I have been depicted.”

“I actually lean hard left on most issues BUT I am a professional so my political beliefs would never affect my duty to protect ALL citizens in my jurisdiction.”

“If I were really as abhorrent and morally bankrupt as the imitators would have you believe, I would have to be a complete imbecile to post such disgusting traits publicly.”

Capek also mentioned that Holland publicly refused to enforce the state’s mask mandate back in July, calling it “unconstitutional.”

On Saturday, Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliott confirmed Holland wrote the posts and issued a statement regarding the chief’s immediate resignation.

Elliott arranged a meeting with Holland after being bombarded with calls from people outraged by the chief’s rhetoric, which has spread to Twitter and Reddit.

“The City of Marshall strongly condemns the actions of Mr. Holland in his posts to social media,” wrote the mayor.

“The Marshall community does not in any way support or condone bullying or threats of violence to anyone of any political persuasion…the Marshall Police force is here to serve and protect EVERYONE.”

CNN said Elliott once described Holland, who served multiple tours overseas, as a “hero” and “is very, very United States.”

However, the mayor was disturbed by the chief’s posts and denounced him, adding:

“It’s not acceptable for the City of Marshall. We don’t care if you’re Republican or Democrat. You’re a voice and you have a right.”

As of Saturday, both of Holland’s profiles had been removed, as had the Marshall police department’s Facebook page.
