People love to ask artists to work for free. Perhaps because artists tend to love their work more than someone with an office job and the traditional 9-5, muggles think that the magical creatures who create art do so purely for the enjoyment.
And while being a “starving artist” may sound romantic, making money does become an important aspect of the work (and while enjoyable, art is still work).
Jon Arton of Birmingham, England, is an incredible visual artist, and it is no surprise that people want him to draw or paint for them.
Check out some of his work.
But the problem is that Arton’s fans requested him to create drawings for them… for free.
So, Arton decided what better way to teach these inconsiderate fans a lesson than to do a bit of trolling?
He first posted about his trollish scheme in August when he shared 4 different “free drawing” requests and his responses. Check them out.

In early September to celebrate hitting more than 45K followers, Jon posted more requests for free art, sarcastically saying,
“I imagine these stunning pieces will be passed down from generation to generation as one mans (me) example of selfless generosity.”

Yesterday, Arton was back at it with his latest shaming post.

The internet is thrilled by how he’s handling the thoughtless requests.

Please, don’t be one of those people. Or you may just find yourself trolled.
