A Columbia-born “social media influencer” from Miami may have brought down her entire family with Instagram posts of her lavish lifestyle that lead authorities her way.
It was almost the perfect crime, that was of course until Miami based social media influencer Jenny Ambuila told everyone about it on Instagram, including the Colombian federal police.
For a brief time at least Jenny Ambuila was enjoying the good life. From luxury vacations, to designer clothing and exotic cars Ambuila’s lavish lifestyle could be seen splashed across her Instagram.
But Jenny was living a little too well for a 26-year-old student who’s father was a mid-level customs official in Columbia making $3000 a month. Eventually the Colombian government took notice.

According to prosecutors Jenny’s father, Omar Ambuila has pocketed millions in bribes over the years for letting untaxed goods enter the country while he worked at the Colombian sea port of Buenaventura.
Omar would then launder some of the money by funneling it to his daughter who used it to fund her luxurious life in Miami.
Authorities eventually grew suspicious after Jenny continually posted photos of herself on Instagram posing with her luxury purchases — from designer clothing, to high end electronics and VIP tickets to Coachella among other things.

When Jenny began posting photos of her new bright red Lamborghini though Colombian authorities had had enough.
On Friday, while on a trip back home to Columbia, Jenny was arrested along with her father and mother.
Jenny is currently under house arrest in Columbia on charges of money laundering. Her parents are being held in prison on charges of aiding smugglers and corruption.
They say crime doesn’t pay — or maybe it does and most criminals aren’t dumb enough to go telling everyone about it.
Few seemed surprised though by another “stupid criminal” story coming out of Florida.
Just another day in #miami

But that didn’t appear to make this particular criminal mastermind seem any less dumb.

In the end Jenny wound up trading her luxury lifestyle and likely several years in jail for just under 7000 followers on Instagram. Hope it was worth it.

That’s what she gets. She should have sat her ass in a corner somewhere and not been trying to flex for likes. When you do clown shit it comes back to you.

Flexing on the gram always leads to trouble.

The moral of the story, if you are sneaky enough to get away with it don’t be dumb enough to tell everyone.
