Ohio Burger King Customer Calls The Cops After Employee Refuses To Honor Coupons

In 2014, Burger King ditched their famous “Have It Your Way” slogan and replaced it with “Be Your Way.” The new slogan was meant to be more personal, but recently an Ohio customer proved that he would go to extreme lengths to “be his way.”

On Thursday, a 73-year-old man went through a Burger King drive-thru in Lakeview, Ohio. He presented the cashier with a “buy one get one free Whopper” coupon that was denied.

The man became angry when the cashier kept his coupon without honoring it. He refused to leave the drive-thru and ended up calling the cops.

He told dispatch:

Anyway the guy took my coupons and he won’t give them back to me and he won’t give me the free whopper that they call for either.

When police arrived on the scene, they learned the coupons were from Texas and the cashier had told the man he couldn’t use them in Ohio. He ultimately got his coupons back but will no longer be welcome at that Burger King.

The internet is divided over who brought the fire.

Some people think BK should have let him have it his way.

Others feel like the man took things a little too far.

And many are just plain confused.

So remember that, if Burger King doesn’t give it to you your way, calling the cops will probably only get you banned. Also, check the fine print of your coupons.
