These Pushpin Location Memes Are Reading Us Like A Book 🙋

The newest relatable meme is here, and it’s letting everyone call themselves out hard. The pushpin meme allows you to show you know what’s good for you, but you make bad decisions anyway. It’s yet another variation on an old meme.

And yet it doesn’t stop everyone from making one.

The pushpin meme gets its name from the pushpin emoji the users use to mark their placement, as if on a map. Their path shows them going around a location that is marked as their “good” decision and ending up at their “bad” decision.

The whole setup is another variation on memes that have been around for a while. The evil Kermit meme, Drakeposting meme, or even the Highway Exit meme are all variations on similar concepts. But this new meme has taken people by storm.

No seriously, everyone is making one.

At some point you have to ask, why this concept is popular. Why do people enjoy calling themselves out? Why do we enjoy connecting to it? Does it say something about our society that we call relate to knowing what’s best but doing the wrong thing anyway?

The rate of meme exploitation and variation is moving faster than ever and the internet has already moved on towards deconstructing this meme.

And it’s gone. This meme is over. Please return to your daily lives.
