Here are the highlights.
British singer Ed Sheeran took home the award for Billboard’s Top Artist. The 28-year-old guitarist and songwriter has sold more than 26 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide. Two of his albums sit on Britain’s all-time best seller’s list, with x (at number 20) and ÷ (at number 34).

Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello was awarded Billboard’s Achievement Award. The former X-Factor contestant rose to fame in 2012 as part of the group Fifth Harmony, which was formed on the show. Her solo hit “Machine Gun Kelly” reached number four on Billboard’s Top 100 list.

Top Country Song went to country star Sam Hunt, who before becoming a debut artist himself worked as a lyricist for Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Billy Currington, and Reba McEntire.

Taylor Swift’s album “reputation” earned her the award for Top Selling Album. In the month and a half in which it was available last year, “reputation” sold nearly 2 million copies.

South Korean boy band BTS won Billboard’s Top Social Artist award, delivering an eye-popping performance of their new single, “Fake Love.”

The Chainsmokers were given the Best Dance/Electronic Dance award, having earned the number 1 spot on Billboard’s hot dance/electronic song list for 48 weeks.

Singer-songwriter Khalid Donnel Robinson (Khalid) took home Billboard’s Top New Artist trophy. His debut single “Location” in 2016 sat at number 16 on Billboard’s Top 100 and was later certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
