Canadian Epically Shuts Down The Notion Of Trump Supporters Thinking They’ll Just Move To Canada

People love to say, “If [Candidate X] wins, I’m leaving the country!” After the results of a bitterly-contested election like the one in the U.S. between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, followers of the losing candidate have started to make their “plans” known.

But not so fast, said one Canadian. In a viral video making the rounds on Twitter, the Canadian man said, in no uncertain words, “Trump supporters moving to Canada, no! Get that out of your head. We don’t want you here.”

“We don’t want your COVID here. We don’t want your ideals here. We don’t want anyone like that here.”

Canada has a long history of grudgingly sharing a border with the United States, and several political cartoons this year depicted the country as terrified of their unruly downstairs neighbors.

“We’re practically socialists up here!” he said, preying on Trump supporters’ fears that the American political left will turn the country toward socialism.

“We have socialized medicine. Weed is legal everywhere. You can get an abortion for free anywhere. And we all wear masks! Like, we take this pandemic seriously.”

In fact, Canada’s border is still closed to the United States because of the ongoing pandemic. U.S. cases are once again on the rise, spiking to 100,000 in a single day last week and signaling a continued upwards trend.

“So stay the f*** away from Canada,” he finished.

Trump supporters may have a difficult time re-homing themselves from the United States in general.
