Medicine has accomplished an incredibly important feat. In Saudi Arabia, a 22-year-man has lived for the past four years with a pair of 3-inch tweezers stuck in his urethra.

You read that right. But now, thanks to doctors, the tweezers have finally been removed.

The entire process was the subject of a scientific paper entitled

Self-insertion of urethral foreign body: A simple endoscopic technique for removal of a metal forceps from male urethra.

The man reported no ill effects, such as fevers, chills or difficulty urinating.

But X-rays quickly revealed the 3-inch forceps were lodged in the man’s anterior urethra.

Though his urethra and bladder size appeared normal, the hard body could be felt by doctors.

Doctors rushed the man into the operating room, where they placed him under general anesthesia.

To ensure the tweezers wouldn’t open up while removing it (tearing the man’s urethra), external pressure was applied to his penis to keep them squeezed shut.

Once they were finished, Doctors strongly recommended the man seek a psychological evaluation.

He denied this request and left immediately without following typical out-patient procedures.

Though it was never revealed how the tweezers ended up in the man’s urethra, some men insert objects into their urethra for sexual pleasure and prostate stimulation.

According to the scientific article on the medical procedure:

“In the vast majority of cases, the patients feel guilty and humiliated and, therefore, often delay asking for medical help.”

Always be sure to seek immediate medical attention if something gets lodged in ANY part of your body, especially your urethra.
