Kristen Bell Narrating Trump Tweets As ‘Gossip Girl’ Is Perfection ?

Before her days exploring The Good Place, Kristen Bell was well known for her work as the titular voice of Gossip Girl on The CW’s high-school drama. Although the actual Gossip Girl turned out to be (SPOILER ALERT) Dan Humphrey, many viewers will never forget how the sound of Bell narrating Gossip Girl’s website posts or text blasts could make their blood run cold.

When Bell visited Late Night with Seth Meyers this past week, the host noted that there was another celebrity whose words often inspired fear in the hearts of millions: President Donald Trump. Putting two and two together, Bell agreed to read some of Trump’s tweets in the classic Gossip Girl style and the results were…unsettling.

Meyers explained his desire to hear Trump’s tweets as Gossip Girl threats:

We feel as though a lot of Donald Trump’s tweets feel very gossipy. We have asked if you wouldn’t mind reading a few of them with the classic Gossip Girl send-off.

While reading, Bell even commented:

They do sound like the things that were written on the show.

Bell didn’t actually appear on Gossip Girl until its last episode, where she made a cameo as herself.

Twitter felt like they were right back in 2010 listening to Bell read Trump’s tweets:

Feel free to play at home! Just take any one of these perfectly written beauties and add “XOXO Gossip Girl” to the end!
