Uber Customer Service Response To Scammed Passenger Is Completely Infuriating ?

On the image sharing site Imgur, one user named Mike shared a very unpleasant experience he had with Uber that must be seen to be believed.

It all began when Uber charged him $157 for a ride he never took. Mike, naturally, tried to correct the mistake, but found things a little harder to resolve than he expected:

It turns out a driver had accused Mike of trashing his car!

As anyone would, Mike told Uber he hadn’t even taken the trip and, therefore, had not trashed the car.

And yet, Uber wouldn’t budge.

Finally, Mike got Uber to remove the cleaning fee, but they still insisted on charging him for the ride he never took.

At this point, it felt more like Mike was talking to a robot than a person.

Mike just wanted his money back. He would have asked sooner, had he known about it!

Ultimately, things ended on a frustrating note.

Mike included an image caption, which read:

I never saw the $157 charge because it was placed immediately before a legitimate Uber ride I took (must be their tactic). I was only alerted when I saw that my credit card bill was suspiciously high about 30 days later. Needless to say I will be lyfting me way around town from now on.

Imgur users felt Mike’s outrage for themselves:

The post made Imgur’s front page and has been seen over 233k times. Mike updated his caption with a message:

Edit: Thanks for all the advice! I was able to call my credit card company and get the charge refunded – they said that they receive lots of fraud claims associated with Uber. Guess they can blacklist me if they like, won’t be using them anymore anyhow 🙂

It seems everything worked out in the end! Let this be a lesson to you, Uber—bad customer service and defrauding your users will drive your users straight to Lyft! Be wary.
