A drone dropped flyers featuring swastikas and anti-media slogans such as “the press is the enemy” outside an Ariana Grande concert at a Sacramento State University event.

Flyers were found on both sides of the Guy West Bridge, as well as outside the Golden 1 Center arena, where Grande was performing at the time.

Sacramento State University President Robert S. Nelsen condemned “in the strongest terms the dissemination of hate speech and propaganda,” adding:

“The anonymous act of spreading such vile material is offensive and runs counter to the principles of inclusion and diversity practiced at Sac State. It did not stop the event, nor will it slow our march toward greater understanding and commitment to the rights and safety of our campus community.”

Some of the flyers included URLs for the “Red ‘X’ Society,” an obscure online group founded by Sacramento resident Tracy Mapes.

Mapes was arrested in November 2017 for dropping anti-media flyers over two NFL games in Oakland and Santa Clara.

The flyers have left some on edge.

Mapes has not been arrested for this incident, but local law enforcement is investigating.
