Actress Megan Fox has a new boyfriend with whom she’s getting very serious—and her ex Brian Austin Green couldn’t help but make a subtle clapback.

Recently, Fox posted a sexy mirror selfie of her and new boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly, with a rather syrupy caption that read:

“Achingly Beautiful Boy… My heart is yours.”

Seems the two are definitely in love.

But there’s just one slight monkey wrench in the situation.

Fox and Green, though estranged, are still married.

That complicated set of dynamics is probably why Green decided to respond to Fox and Kelly’s ‘gram—without ever mentioning either of them.

Green co-opted Fox’s caption and laid it over a post in which he shared photos of the couple’s three children, Noah, 7, Bodhi, 6, and Journey, 3, along with Green’s 18-year-old son Kassius, from a previous relationship.

Now that’s what you call shade.

Fox and Kelly met on the set of the upcoming film Switchgrass back in March, and officially became an item in May, right after Green announced that he and Fox had separated.

Fox and Kelly are back at work together in Puerto Rico, where production on Switchgrass is back up and running.

Green’s shady post is a marked shift in tone from his previous comments about Fox.

Just this week he defended her in a podcast, speaking out about how judgmental many people have been of her relationship with Kelly.

“Everybody is judgmental right now because she is out of the country working. This is what we do. We travel and we work. It’s no different now than it’s been before except that we are no longer together.”

Whatever the cause of the shift in tone, many people on Instagram were loving the subtle shade.

Though not everyone was impressed.

Green and Fox met in 2004 and married in 2010. They previously separated in 2015, but reconciled in 2016.
