Nebraska Man Who Married His Biological Daughter After She Competed With Her Half-Sister To Sleep With Him Gets Prison Time

A 21-year-old woman from Nebraska had sex with her biological father as part of a competition with her half-sister to see who could have sex with him first.

Samantha Kershner and her father, Travis Fieldgrove, 40, were each charged with one count of incest in both Hall and Adams counties.

The Omaha World-Herald cited a court affidavit in which Grand Island police officers spoke to Fieldgrove and Kershner, who confirmed they were in a romantic relationship.

Three years ago, Kershner’s mother arranged a meeting after her daughter asked to know the identity of her father.

Fieldgrove said that he and Kershner had a father-daughter relationship, but they admitted to having sex on September 10.

The affidavit stated that Kershner told police:

“her motivation to have sex with her father stemmed from a jealous competition with her half sister regarding who could have sex with their father.”

By October 1, the pair were married in Adams County Courthouse in Hastings.

Fieldgrove, who’s from St. Paul, Nebraska told police he didn’t believe he was Kershner’s father since his name was not on her birth certificate.

But a DNA test proved otherwise.

According to a paternity test taken on Jan. 14, the DNA test result revealed that the probability of Fieldgrove being the father was 99.999 percent.

Fieldgrove pleaded no contest to incest in April and admitted that he regretted marrying his daughter.

His defense attorney Jeff Loeffler said Fieldgrove wasn’t a “high-functioning” person due to a brain injury.

At the time of the couple’s arrest, the Grand Island Police Department said:

“Evidence leading up to the arrest suggests that Fieldgrove and (the daughter) were aware of the biological relationship before being intimate, and further indicates that they quickly married one another after being notified of the investigation.”

Both were held on Friday at the Hall County Jail, with Fieldgrove on $100,000 bail and Kershner on $20,000 bond.
