A driver totaled her vehicle on Wednesday while driving along Silver Spur Road in Cairo, New York.
And it was all due to an itsy bitsy perpetrator.
The female driver discovered a spider on her dashboard and allegedly panicked, causing her to lose control of her black sedan and crash into a wooded area off the road.
The whereabouts of the eight-legged entity remain unknown.
The Cairo New York Police Department posted a warning on their Facebook page and instructed drivers to overcome their fears and safely pull over after discovering an arachnid stowaway.
“We know that it is easier for some drivers than others,” they said.
“Lives depend on it,” added the Police Department, to drive the point home.
Joking aside, the unnamed female driver survived the crash but suffered a leg injury.

I think I might’ve done the same. Hopefully no ugly looking bug is ever in the car with me.— SBuck (@SherylBuck) April 12, 2019
In case anyone was wondering about Spidey.
I bet the spider walked out of the car laughing..— Hassan (@Hassan_AlQrety) April 11, 2019
Mate if we did crash the car Aragog would of just dragged us out no problem— Ryan Ashworth (@Ryashworth9) April 11, 2019
Others like Sharyn were less fearful.
Vengeful is more like it.
Like the police said, it might not be easy for all drivers to remain calm and pull over. But just know that having the spider in your line of sight while safely stopping your vehicle is better than it suddenly pulling a vanishing act.
What’s that in your ear?
