A male contestant from the popular matchmaking competition show Love Island USA was unceremoniously removed from the program after making his first appearance.

Noah Purvis was one of three new male islanders who joined the villa on the show’s 26th episode on September 17 alongside fellow contestants Bennett Sipes and Bennie Bivens.

But on Sunday’s episode, the 24-year-old model and healthcare provider from Missouri was nowhere to be seen, leaving viewers very confused.

Producers later explained that Purvis was in violation of the program’s contestant agreement, but without going into specifics.

CBS and ITV America wrote in a statement obtained by ET Online:

“It has been brought to our attention that cast member Noah Purvis provided false information on his application to Love Island, which violates his contestant agreement.”

All references to Purvis―including his bio and photographs―have been wiped from the official Love Island website and CBS press materials since his departure.

But according to Pink News, many viewers think he was exiled for his history as a gay porn actor.

To prove that Purvis was the same man featured in a video for gay porn studio Corbin Fisher, Twitter user @henriusbb23 posted side-by-side photos of the model, prompting readers to “look at the spot on his chest.”

The body of evidence suggested that Purvis was “Ethan” of the “Ethan+Zander” coupling as seen on the title image for a Corbin Fisher video.

Two closeup images reveal an identifying freckle and slash mark in the same area of the chest and shoulder.

Social media users presumed Purvis was banished from the show after producers discovered that his past resume included gay pornography.

Fans of Love Island slammed the show’s producers and accused them of stigmatizing sex work by giving Purvis the boot.

Meanwhile, Purvis gained some unexpected exposure for his previous work.

According to ET Online, Purvis has yet to publicly address his sudden departure from the show.
