After Chloe Ricard failed to contact her family or come home after “briefly” visiting a friend, the family began to investigate, fearing the worst.

Unfortunately, the worst is exactly what they found.

Chloe Ricard, 13, of Amesbury, Massachusetts, was left at the front door of Lawrence General Hospital’s emergency room by a man in his 40s.

She was dead.

“From what one of the police officers said at the hospital, she was brought in and dumped at the hospital,” Dolan told WFXT-TV.

“They said she was lifeless. No pulse, no nothing, they just drove in and dropped her off. She didn’t even have a pulse when they pushed her out of the car.”

Police have made an arrest in connection with this mystery figure.

The District Attorney’s office, as well as Lawrence’s Police Department, announced that 47-year-old Carlos Rivera had been arrested in conjunction with the death of the eighth grader.

There are currently no details about how Chloe Ricard died, but the police department is calling the arrest of Carlos Rivera a “step in the right direction.”

Debra, her mother, said while in tears:

“She was sick. Call an ambulance. Do something to try to save her. He took away my world.”

Details surrounding the arrest and death remain sketchy, but in addition to being charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, Rivera is also being charged with two counts of distribution of Class B drugs to a minor by the Essex DA.
However, Rivera is not being charged with murder.
Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said in a statement:

“I want to commend the entire investigative team who worked around the clock to determine the events leading of the tragic death of a 13-year old girl. We will continue our diligent pursuit of justice for this victim.”

But what is justice?

Is this a murder case, or a series of bad decisions that led to a tragic outcome?

Hopefully, Chloe’s family will have answers soon.
