Greg Pack, 70, was browsing through an Essex, England antique sale when he happened upon a very old looking box. Though he had come to the sale looking for clocks, the box piqued his interest and he couldn’t help but look to see what was inside.
It turns out the box was filled with yet another mystery: 100-year-old glass negatives depicting an unknown family. Fortunately, Pack, a retired graphics artist, “used to work with negatives and these looked quite good.” Although glass negatives “fade quite easily,” he was able to use his photoshop skills to bring the pictures to life.
Pack’s son, publisher Scott Patrick, tweeted the entire story, along with the finished products!

Pack also reached out to Twitter to see whether the sleuths of the internet might be able to help them solve the mystery of who these people were!

If you ask the internet for theories, people are always more than happy to oblige.

Though there were arguments over some small details, everyone seemed to agree the pictures were taken over 100 years ago.

The next time you see an antique sale, take a look around! You’ll never know what you might find…
