Taco Bell’s motto is “live mas“—”mas” of course meaning “more.” When a marketing team came up with that slogan, they probably didn’t anticipate that their food would someday actually help someone literally live more.
Jeremy Taylor drove up a forest service road last Sunday with his beloved pup. Unfortunately for them, his Toyota 4Runner couldn’t make it through the snow and got stuck. Four days later on Thursday, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office released a missing person report. Luckily, the next day a snowmobile driver spotted Taylor’s vehicle and called 911. Taylor and his dog were rescued, hungry, but in good condition.
According to Buzzfeed News…
“Taylor told investigators that he’d fallen asleep, and woke up on Monday to see more snow had piled up. He was unable to get his car out of the snow, so he tried to walk to safety with Ally. But the deep snow made it difficult, and they returned to the SUV.”
However, the most unlikely piece of the story is that what gave him some sustenance during the ordeal was packets of Taco Bell hot sauce.
The Deschutes Country Sheriff’s Office was thrilled that he had been found, and released this statement…

“ADDITIONAL DETAILS RELEASED
At approximatley 2:16pm on March 01, a snowmobile rider contacted Deschutes County 911 to report Jeremy Taylor had been located on Forest Service Road 40 near Wake Butte, west of Sunriver. An Oregon Water Resouce SnowCat with one DCSO SAR member responded to the location and made contact with Jeremy and his dog Ally. Jeremy and Ally were found to be in good condition, but hungry after being stuck in the snow for five days. Jeremy and Ally were then transported to the intersection of FS Road 40 and FS Road 45 where he was reunited with family and friends.
Jeremy told investigators he had gone up FS Road 40 on Sunday, but became stuck in the snow. He awoke Monday to even more snow and was unable to get his vehicle unstuck. Jeremy had attempted to walk out on Monday, but the deep snow made it very difficult and he and Ally returned to his vehicle. Jeremy stayed warm over the next four days by periodically starting his vehicle and used a few taco sauce packets he had as food.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who assisted with the search for Jeremy and his dog Ally.”
And Jeremy Taylor himself posted on Facebook…
Thank you everyone, I'm safe my Ally dog is safe. I really appreciate all the help. Got lucky, lets never do that again. I'll be in touch with everyone soon.

Maybe I should think twice about declining taco sauce at the drive-thru. Would ketchup work as well ?
