Melania Trump’s Reason For Not Reaching Out To Michelle Obama For Advice Sounds Like A Burn

Former First Lady Michelle Obama sat down for an interview with Robin Roberts to talk about her new memoir, Becoming. During the conversation for 20/20, the subject of Melania Trump came up. Roberts asked Obama if Trump had reached out to her seeking advice for her new role.

Obama kept her answer short and to the point, saying:

“No, no she hasn’t.”

Obama continued, saying about Trump’s progress as FLOTUS:

“You know, one of the things you learn as a former, it’s, like, I don’t judge, what a current is doing, you know? So I’d prefer not to, you know, speak on what she’s doing versus what I did because I think every first lady approaches this job differently.”

A spokesperson for Trump responded to the comment by saying:

“Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way. When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”

Some folks have wondered if Trump is heeding her own “Be Best” advice.

Others thought Trump could have benefitted from a little Obama knowledge.

Whether we are asking for help or not, always remember to be best, or, as Michelle Obama said, “Be better.”
