‘Smallville’ Actor Allison Mack Pleads Guilty In Bizarre Sex Cult Case

This may be the weirdest story that has broken in a really long time.

Allison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan on the hit TV show Smallville from 2001-2011, was arrested last April by the FBI in relation to an investigation into the organization NXIVM.

Today, in court, she pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering.

“I have come to the conclusion that I must take full responsibility for my conduct and that’s why I am pleading guilty today,” Mack said to the court, reportedly sobbing so hard that the judge stopped to offer her a tissue.

“I am very sorry for my role in this case. I am very sorry to my family and to the good people I hurt through my misguided adherence to [NXIVM leader] Keith Raniere’s teachings,” she continued.

Keith Raniere, the leader of NXIVM (pronounced “Nexium”) was arrested in March 2018. Raniere pleaded not guilty.

Mack and Raniere reportedly committed several crimes together, including branding women with Raniere’s initials and grooming them to have sex with him.

“I joined NXIVM … to find purpose,” Mack said. “I truly believed I found a group of individuals who believed as I did.”

“I believed Keith Raniere’s intentions were to help people.  I was wrong.”

Mack reportedly admitted to keeping a sex slave and instructing other women in the group to “perform services” for her.

It is unclear whether or not a sentencing deal was also cut with prosecution in this case, but Mack is looking at up to 40 years in prison if she is given the maximum sentence for the two counts she is charged with.

Keith Raniere’s trial will begin opening statements on April 29th. Alongside Raniere, Seagrams heiress Clare Bronfman and another member of Raniere’s inner circle, Kathy Russell, are facing life in prison if they are convicted by a jury.

Chloe Sullivan would not approve.
