Honey, I Shrunk The Kids! star Rick Moranis was brought to the hospital after suffering an unprovoked sucker punch to his head in New York City on Friday morning, October 2.
The incident was caught on camera near the intersection of 70th street and Central Park West near Moranis’ New York City home, having been perpetrated by a man wearing an “I Heart NY” sweatshirt, who casually walked away after assaulting the actor.
Moranis reportedly suffered pain in his back, head and right-side hip, which prompted him to check into a hospital for evaluation as well as report the attack to the NYPD.
As we enter this troubling time of confusion and uncertainty I just want to offer my most sincere thoughts and prayers — and hopes for a full, painless recovery — to actor Rick Moranis

Honestly the news that has me most heated today is Rick Moranis getting jumped on the UWS. I will ride out on some vigilante justice for that man.

Before I go, here's a reminder, if one were needed, of how brilliant Rick Moranis is. He didn't drag himself out of Skid Row just to get punched in the head. I hope I wake to find the guy responsible caught and beat to a pulp.
Good night stay safe and may your god go with you pic.twitter.com/t6eqSV8KVI

Moranis has taken a long hiatus from acting to focus on raising his children. His wife died from cancer in 1991.
He has no projects upcoming, but is treasured in our hearts from his work on SCTV and in films such as Little Shop Of Horrors, where he played Seymour Krelborn, and Ghostbusters, where he played whacky tax attorney Louis Tully, who coincidentally also resides on Central Park West.
