Actor Ricky Schroder called cops on Sunday after saying he felt threatened by several angry social media posts.
Schroder faced backlash for helping to bail out Kyle Rittenhouse—the 17-year-old gunman from Illinois who faces charges for murdering two people and injuring a third at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

This is so disgusting.
I hope every studio, network, streamer remembers this.

Reckoning will come for this 17yo killer and whoever supports his cause and temporary freedom. Forget their names. They shouldn’t be mentioned at all
We just have to remember Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and hope that Gaige Grosskreutz sues the shxt out of the boy.

According to The Huffington Post, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Schroder contacted them after:
“one person’s comments contained language that Mr. Schroder felt threatened by.”
This news about #RickySchroder bailing out #KyleRittenhouse proves that my bad taste in men goes back way earlier than I thought.

A spokesperson wrote in an email:
“The comments reviewed by Sheriff’s personnel did not meet the criteria of Criminal Threats as defined by the Penal Code, but a Suspicious Circumstances report was taken.”
“Lost Hills Station Detective Bureau is investigating the incident and will continue monitoring for criminal acts.”
News that Schroder donated $150,000 towards Rittenhouse’s bail came to light after Rittenhouse’s attorney, Lin Wood, tweeted a post-release photo of the smiling teen accused of two murders posing with beaming lawyer John Pierce, and the equally happy former child actor.
FREE AT LAST!!!

Mike Lindell, the founder and CEO of MyPillow and a known Donald Trump supporter, also contributed to the fund.

Schroder received major backlash online after his contribution.
I was a fan of Ricky Schroder when I was younger, but that ends today with his donation of bail money to Kyle Rittenhouse.

And he can live with that his whole life on his conscience that he helped a double murderer in the face of those families. Salt of the earth, Ricky 👌

Ricky’s always been a conservative. But I didn’t know that he was a wacko.

The Right needs to cast these nut jobs out if they wish to remain relevant, both today and in the history books. pic.twitter.com/F5FPGUkuqZ

After facing public outcry over his choices, Schroder addressed his “Democrat friends” on Twitter.
The actor—whose last credit was a 2016 TV movie—posted screenshots of the comments he perceived as threats with the caption:
“To my Democrat Friends. This is the country want to live in? #f**kantifa”

The Silver Spoons actor also included a photo of himself with a rifle.
It’s unclear if the photo was intended as a salute to the 17-year-old accused of murdering a mentally ill homeless man—Joseph Rosenbaum—and a Black Lives Matter protester—Anthony Huber.

holding an assault rifle but you still need to call police? I thought AR’s cured fear?
— No Trump Zone (@DJT_mustResign) November 24, 2020
The 50-year-old actor received no sympathy in the comments on his post.
Do u have proof someone on the left wrote this? Because that is a typical right wing fanatic move, an the it sounds like the type of people who plan to kill a governor. An they r the ones that started the fire at Minneapolis police dept an fired shots into it. To blame on BLM.
— ◀❇💮Diovoglia💮❇▶ (@Diovoglia24) November 23, 2020
The cops already laughed at it and promptly filed precisely zero criminal charges against a single solitary soul.
— U Out Fast (@UOutFast1) November 24, 2020
Pretty sad when an insignificant actor has to pay 150K to help a murderer just to buy himself some attention. Go back to being ignored.
— Valerie (@elizabeth_w74) November 24, 2020
What makes you feel so strongly about this kid? Did he or didn’t he kill 2 and injured 1. He ruined three families lives. That’s my take what is yours Ricky?
— Jeff Minnaert (@jeff_minnaert) November 24, 2020
Antifa? 😂😂😂😂 Where people have an opinion about you supporting and bailing out a murderer! What about the two that are dead, don’t they deserve justice? So sad to see this is who you are.
— Taylor Lianne Chandler (@RealTayChaTLC) November 23, 2020
You just massacred what might have been left of your floundering career to bail out someone who should have stayed in jail. Good luck with that decision.
— RocknRollGirl 🎼🎸🎤🎹 (@ladyjugsoplenty) November 24, 2020
Can you explain to all your friends what exactly you would actually do with that rifle because it appears you went whining to the cops about someone’s Instagram comment. You paid to get a murderer out of jail
Suck it up, buttercup. You ruined your careerhttps://t.co/tOmKR5Lb4r
— Ariana D Michaels 🏳️🌈 (@ArianaDMichaels) November 24, 2020
How can you donate 150k towards the release of an animal that willingly decided to drive hours to show up armed with an assault rifle and all “tactical” to a peaceful protest where he was the agressor and gunned down multiple people, one of which was aiding others. No! #FURicky
— 🇷🇺 WH PURGE🗑️🛢️☣️⚠️ (@AC_Speaks20) November 24, 2020
He illegally purchased a gun, hid it, lied about it, and then used it to kill two people and seriously injure another. This is the person YOU want to support?
— Susan (@Susan_Resists) November 24, 2020
So actor Ricky Schroder from Silver Spoons helped bail out murderer Kyle Rittenhouse.
I say we boycott all of Rick’s shows and films.
Oh wait…he doesn’t have any.

— Mothra (@frayedLA) November 23, 2020
Didn’t you move to Parler?
— Bruno Amato (@BrunoAmato_1) November 23, 2020
There aren’t any non-nazi’s on parler to try and sound macho to with his prop shotgun in the backyard of his gated estate.
— James Garay (@JamesGaray1) November 24, 2020
This is not how Democrats feel… This is how a VERY SMALL margin of people feel. You should be familiar with small margins… Cause that is now what your fan base is! Cause I’m OUT!
Besides, that you made it CLEAR that THOSE are the type of people you prefer!— Tressa Stein (@tressa_stein) November 23, 2020
Well, he did get a little attention for felony domestic violence in 2019… but I agree with your sentiment.
— Ashleigh Sarkaria (@AshleighSarkar1) November 24, 2020
Last year, Schroder made headlines after being arrested twice in one month for suspicion of domestic abuse with the same unnamed woman.
Rittenhouse was arrested in August after fatally shooting Rosenbaum and Huber and injuring Gaige Grosskreutz with his AR-15 at a demonstration over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Blake became paralyzed from the waist down after being shot seven times in the back by Kenosha, Wisconsin police.
Rittenhouse was charged with murder, attempted murder, and weapons and endangerment offenses.
