Stephen King Just Called For Trump’s Impeachment With A Blistering Tweet ????

Sometimes, you just gotta tell it like it is, which is exactly what Stephen King just did — and it was fire.

The iconic writer took to his Twitter account Tuesday to go full scorched-earth on the President, and he didn’t spare First Daughter Ivanka or new acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, either.

“Trump condones murder,” King’s tweet began, referencing the death of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi citizen who was tortured, murdered, and dismembered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul because he was critical of the Saudi regime. The CIA has concluded that Khashoggi, who was a legal resident of the U.S., was murdered on the orders of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Trump’s response has been to take the side of bin Salman, who has denied the allegations:

“The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region.”

An interesting choice, given that those “interests” are millions of dollars worth of weapons contracts to supply a regime that just dismembered a U.S. resident.

King then moved on to criticizing Trump’s defense of his daughter Ivanka’s use of her private email account for official government business, since Trump (technically) won the election partially on the basis of Hillary Clinton’s supposedly dangerous use of a private email server, an entirely different and vastly more secure account than Ivanka’s. Chants of “Lock her up!” in reference to Clinton were heard as recently as Trump’s last rally two weeks ago.

And as for Trump’s “f*cking crook,” acting AG Matthew Whitaker, he has as yet refused to produce financial disclosure filings amid ethics concerns surrounding religiously bigoted comments he has made about Muslims and Jews. He has also publicly shared his opinions against the Mueller investigation, and there is widespread sentiment that his appointment isn’t even constitutional in the first place.

King’s closing salvo was simply “Impeach.” This would be the most likely course of action in a normally functioning democracy but, well, here we are.

Reactions to King’s tweet were a rich tapestry, ranging from enthusiastic support…

…to the outright deranged.

Well, we guess that’s settled.

No word yet on what Trump thinks of King’s tweet, but maybe we’ll get a pre-dawn Thanksgiving tweetstorm about how King is a “total loser” because “The Art of the Deal” is the best-selling book in the world after the Bible and all of King’s books have failed. Fingers crossed!
