Warning: video contains racial slurs

A video showing a UFC fighter fighting with people at a restaurant was shared online this week.

Mike Perry, an MMA fighter, was recorded walking out of a restaurant while verbally arguing with some people in the establishment.

Things take a turn for the even worse, however, when Perry punches a man.

According to TMZ, the whole situation started when Perry got into a fight with someone at his table at a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas.

A witness says a restaurant employee asked the UFC fighter to leave. Perry in return, punched the staffer in the eye.

The video begins after this with people trying to get Perry to leave the restaurant, including his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez. They slowly leave the dining area, with Perry arguing with multiple people, asking if they’re going to call the cops.

This is when an older man starts arguing with Perry. Perry insults the man, who then rushes the UFC fighter.

It unfortunately ends about as well as could be expected for that altercation.

From there, Perry takes a seat on a ledge and says for the restaurant to call the cops. He also yells out racial slurs multiple times, addressed to no one in particular.

The racial slur is unfortunately, a very common occurrence for Perry.

The older man was taken to the hospital with injuries, but police didn’t arrest Perry. They are investigating the incident.

Perry’s actions are particularly frustrating as he seemed to want something like this to happen. The day of the incident he threatened anyone who got too close to him.

Shortly after the video went up, he gave a statement on it.

The video looks bad but there are still people defending Perry for fighting while seemingly ignoring his use of racial slurs. They point out the older man in the video charged Perry before being struck.

But this interpretation ignores the fact Perry was making a scene, assaulted an employee, used racial slurs and verbally abused the people around him.

But it’s slightly easier to understand when the only thing his defenders saw was the video.

The restaurant wouldn’t give a comment, due to the pending criminal investigation. But TMZ also reported Perry didn’t pay his bill and the restaurant may be considering a theft charge.

Perry has obviously been tight lipped about what went down, aside from his “No Comment” tweet after the fact.

UFC condemned his actions and said he will not be offered a fight for the foreseeable future. They also did not specifically address Perry’s use of racial slurs.
