Redditor Accused Of Treating Husband Like 'Child' After Hiding 'Expensive' Kitchen Knife From Him

It can cause a lot of turmoil when a spouse damages your beloved belongings.

Especially one your take good care of.

So when a spouse is "abusing" another spouse's personal items, it can cause some... personal problems.

Watch out for sharp objects.

Redditor Vast-Astronat wanted to discuss their experience and get some feedback, so naturally, they came to the "Am I The A**hole" (AITA) subreddit.

They asked:

""AITA for telling my husband he can't use my good kitchen knife?

The Original Poster (OP) explained:

"I have a nice chef's knife."

"It was a gift from my dad."

"I take care of it."

"Hand wash only, sharpen it regularly, never put it in the dishwasher."

"My husband uses it for everything."

"Cutting frozen meat, opening packages, scraping things off the cutting board."

"I've told him so many times not to do that."

"Last week I found it in the sink with dried food stuck to it."

"Just sitting there in water."

"I was so annoyed."

"I said, 'I've asked you not to use this knife. You don't take care of it.'"

"He said, 'It's just a knife. You're being obsessive.'"

"I said, 'It's expensive, and it matters to me. Use the cheap knives.'"

"Now I hide it in a drawer."

"He's annoyed and says I'm treating him like a child."

The OP was left to wonder:

"So... AITA?"

Redditors shared their thoughts on this matter and weighed in on some options to the question, AITA:
